    Name: Mason Bryce Vaughan

    Age: 18

    Birthday: May 8, 1994

    Gender: Male

    Appearance:
    Mason Vaughan 95vk8x

Mason is a rather diverse fellow in terms of appearance. His face can be considered passable by his peers, with a slightly pointed chin protruding from its bottom, and cheeks reddened to a slight raw meat-esque hue. His nose, which he slightly despises, is a bit on the large side. He boasts a tangled plethora of chocolate-brown hair, and eyes of the same brown palate. His build is negligible if one were to measure his strength – a somewhat average 5’10” and only 125 pounds. Most of his weight resides in his muscular legs, which he often admits is his favorite physical characteristic of himself. This allows ample flexibility below the torso, as well as a predisposition for fast, efficient running. However, his arms lack this perk.

Mason’s wardrobe is modest, and he prefers it as such. His usual attire consists of a plain black or gray t-shirt, often faded and/or old. The same goes for his jeans, blue or black in color, and often torn or frayed at the knees or ankles. He has a discrete interest in flannel, being an avid fan of light flannel jackets or vests. He is often seen wearing one in dark, somewhat morose colors. As for footwear, Mason’s shoes are sneakers, and like the rest of his clothing, they are tarnished and worn. His physical features, as with anyone and everyone, can be considered attractive to some and repulsive to others.

Personality: Intelligent, composed, creative, and witty, Mason’s personality is one of his most interesting (and peculiar) aspects. He can be described as intelligent and intellectually-driven, valuing education and progress. This trait is purely natural, and it developed even further as he aged. An expansive vocabulary and a perk for critical thinking have also enabled a flair for creativity. Furthermore, Mason translates this into a burlesque fashion, giving him a sarcastic and deadpan sense of humor even in serious situations. However, this can occasionally get him into trouble. Mason is quite sociable and likeable in most situations, however.

If Mason is faced with someone he considers inferior, ignorant or irksome, he can be somewhat on the nasty side to them, sometimes without meaning to. This is partially because he was bullied and ridiculed in elementary and middle school for being a “smarty pants”, and his sensitivity to this often compels him to act on impulse. He also has a short fuse and threshold for anger, and is prone to short spells of depression. In addition, he also shows signs of eccentricity.

History: Born and raised in the frost-bitten city of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mason Vaughan was conceived in a middle-class family of three. His father, an environmental scientist and distinguished worker, brought home the income for the family, as his mother lacked a college education and only worked part-time as a volunteer nurse. His family was humbly sized, as Mason was and still is an only child.

Mason was rarely popular in primary/elementary school, and often stuck to a modest but tightly knit group of friends. He was often ridiculed for being smart for his age, and his mild dyslexia. Despite this, he rarely wavered in the course of peer pressure. He had a stellar academic record, and was noted as a favorite among teachers.

At the age of nine, Mason’s family relocated to the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, an affluent community largely affordable by his father’s endeavors. Though largely satisfied with the outcome, Mason had trouble adjusting to the new location, and his performance in school slipped a few notches. Nevertheless, he managed to pull himself out of his dive, and by the time he entered middle school, he had retained his aptitude for academics and education.

Middle school predictably went by in a seemingly brief flash of light, and Mason was still having trouble socially. Then, hormones happened, and he began revolting against his peers in retaliation. He would often get into fights, and was assaulted periodically, resulting in numerous detentions and a couple of suspensions. Though he still did reasonably well in school, it was evident that he was suffering internally, as these newfound hormones were wreaking havoc on his adolescent body.

Four days after Mason’s fourteenth birthday, his mother was killed in an automobile accident, plunging the developing young man into a further state of depression. Despite finding comfort and confiding in his father, he still descended further into this emotional crevice, eventually picking up an unadvisable habit of smoking cigarettes and experimenting with drugs. Being the wily person that he is, this was all kept discrete from his father, a fact which Mason regrets.

To ease the pain associated with losing his mother, Mason and his father moved closer to the Chicago Loop, though still in a relatively safe and upscale neighborhood. Presently, he is rarely at home, often vouching to go on long walks in solitude.
