Name: Momoko Renade Ishikawa
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Momoko Ishikawa is typical for a japanese-filipino mixed child. Short, tan, and strangely enough, curly hair. She stands at the short stature of five feet and two inches, making her way shorter than her male cohorts. She has a slightly too-round face and obsessively sculpted, expressive eyebrows that basically scream her emotions. Her lips are thin and usually pursed (she does that when thinking, if not sticking her tongue out) and eyes are a bright brown color, easily catching the light on a sunny day. Her figure is skinny and flat, not a lot to it really, but some soccer muscles do show in the right setting underneath tan skin. Mo's hair is a curly dark brown, though she usually highlights some colors to make it 'better' in her opinion. Once in a while, a blonde section creeps in, but only when she's feeling extra rowdy. Her parents do not condone of the hair, nor her wardrobe.
Mo’s ‘style’ per se, is a mixture of really interesting outfit combinations. Some are normal for a 19 year old singer, and some are just plain...weird. She loves to shop at the thrift store, and has a habit of ‘doctoring’ her discounted clothes to fit her unique style. She can go from wearing ripped skinny jeans and a heavy bomber jacket to 1940’s business casual within the same day. She tends to stay away from most warm colors, preferring the looks of the blues, greens, and purples against her skin-tone. Her hair is always styled, and though she may not act like it, Mo is very controlling about how she looks, and goes into more detail than she should. Mo might not pull off every outfit, but you usually can say you’ve never seen ‘that’ before when seeing her designs. When alone, it’s a pair of sweats and loose fitting 1990’s work-out gear, complete with falling off of the shoulder hot pink shirt. One thing's for sure, this girl carries herself well in spite of what she wears.
Personality: Mo (Or Momo, but only her family and her closest friend calls her that) is the type of girl to be very... rambunctious. If you meet her on a good day, maybe you won't even get cussed out! Momoko is a very honest about her feelings when it suits her (and mostly while insulting others), but also very guarded about emotions that someone could use against her, or might have someone sense that she is vulnerable or weak. Mo is very generous and giving, but she doesn't make a big deal out of it. Modesty over Marveling, she always said. She is always one to speak her mind and stand by her decisions, even if they are made for reasons she doesn’t remember. Momoko stays true to her word, and will be there when a friend needs her.
On the flip side, she's very guarded about her own emotions, and has a hard time articulating why she feels a certain way. She is also the type of person to bottle things up until she explodes, often leading a trail of disaster in her wake during the whole spectacle. She is very violent as well, feeling she was always the type of person to settle things with her fists before her words. Momoko is very determined and passionate about whatever she wants to do at this point in her life, and she can become quite obsessively work-oriented if it would bring her happiness.
That being said, she does have some time for a social life. Unfortunately, it tends to involve drinking (underage), spending time with strangers and playing music. She's got quite the singing voice, and it tends to get her into all sorts of shenanigans when she's drunk. Momoko is a very social person actually, and if you can get past how she digs into your life and never forgets any detail about you, you've got a life-long friend... that is until you wrong her. Mo might have a short temper and a bit of a grudge holding habit. She’s also deathly allergic to hazelnuts, has a strong dislike of birds, and is claustrophobic. Not that she’d let you know, or anything like that.
History: Momoko Ishikawa didn’t have the happiest home life. Her filipino mother was a college exchange student, prestigious in her grades but not her social life. Her father? A japanese sushi chef who worked at the college. She was pregnant within a month, and after giving birth to the child, promptly left her with her college-aged father, a tanner version of himself with curly hair. Of course he dropped out, how could he tell his parents about her? It was unheard of! He moved from the east coast to Chicago with his daughter to the more ‘minority’ setting, and tried to continue his job as a chef in several local asian cuisine restaurants during her young years. Often he was the ‘bad’ parent, but he was the only parent Mo had.
Momoko grew up in a mixture of her alcoholic dad, her dyslexia in school and the way people viewed her because she was asian. It was weird, seeing other girls with their mothers, while she never knew hers. Momoko grew up detached from the world, and not to mention her temper causing fights in her neighborhood. As she got older, she figured she could be more responsible, but her father, after finally opening up his own restaurant in an old foreclosed building, began a spree of gambling on everything. Momoko tried to work on the finances, and even took on part time jobs besides working for her father to help pay for the money he was gambling away though.
When it became too much for her, trying to be the parent her father was supposed to be, she just...quit. She graduated high school...barely... and started living at a friend’s house while her father was being persecuted for fraud. Turns out he did more with the money than she knew of, and was carted off to jail. Because she was old enough by the government to live on her own, she refused to move in with her grandmother and instead is crashing at a friend’s house until she can get a place of her own. She’ll have panic attacks as well, but the alcohol she acquired from their dirty old home before it foreclosed seemed to be helping with that. Though she never got into drugs, she did acquire a strong stomach for any type of drink, and it shows, though Momoko drunk is quite a sight to see sometimes. She visits her father sometimes, but at the moment she’s just trying to do a couple online classes with the laptop from her grandmother as a graduation present and to really take off with her music. It seemed to be the only escape growing up, and now that she has a guitar to teach herself, Mo really wants to make it big and show the world that she really does matter.

- Spoiler:
- Renade had been caught.
In hindsight, she had made a pretty stupid mistake concerning her skipping school. She had overslept that morning because during the night she was tossing and turning.Stupid Yuki. Was pretty much the only thought she could actually believe in with some conviction. He had caused all of this to happen, and she was going to make him pay. Because he had come to her dorm last night and through that she had an epiphany, it caused her to get no sleep. When she finally fell asleep, it had been the upside of five in the morning, only a couple hours before classes were to begin.
Naturally she overslept. Renade was a heavy sleeper. She had hated mornings since she could remember. For someone who loved the outdoors, she hated having to wake up and face the sun shining in her face! So when she finally did wake up, around eleven or so after tossing and turning for her 'night', she promptly had rolled out of bed and onto the ground. Of course, expletives were uttered as she groggily got ready for the day. The poor American transfer didn't realize that she had overslept. She was a mess, empty of all emotion besides being irritable for being kept up all night even after Yuki had left.
She realized last night that she was falling in love with him.
So she spent all night fighting with herself, trying to take her realization back. It was Yuki! He was an idiot! Yet he's scoring higher on tests than you. He never does anything nice! Remember him taking you to the festival? He has no manners! Yet he spilled his drink on Cora for you. That...doesn't count! That proves the fact! Yeah, but didn't you realize it was because Cora was poking fun at you that he did that? You're lying to me again. See, this is what happens when I follow your/my own advice. Shit gets confused!
It was safe to say Renade was having a bad day. [i]Fuck school. I'm in no mood. I need to find something else to do. Renade still stayed in her uniform, mostly because she was too lazy to change into something else. Padding around her room, she considered trying to contact Yuki. Quickly dismissing the idea, Renade continued to sulk. She didn't need him! Deciding instead to practice her contest entry selections, Renade grabbed her guitar, slipped the capo on and sat on her floor cross-legged.
Renade had entered a talent competition a couple of weekends ago. Well, it was more of a concert for charity, seeing as how the money charged to enter and then the money charged to see the concert. At first she was writing a song, but after a few sleepless nights, she decided against that. She wanted to write a new song, but with all of the confusion in her life, she thought it was best to get through that before attempting a new song.
She started playing a pretty easy song by JJ Heller, a christian artist who wrote mainly guitar and piano songs. Her voice was soft, and Renade felt that she really connected with the song. Mostly it connected with Sho. Lots of those types of songs called Sho out of her. Strumming, Renade started into the verse.
He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He's the kid with the story
No one would believe
He prays every night
"Dear God won't you please
Could you send someone here
Who will love me?"
Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done
Or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means
Her office is shrinking a little each day
She's the woman whose husband has run away
She'll go to the gym after working today
Maybe if she was thinner
Then he would've stayed
And she says...
Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done
Or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means
What love really means
She felt more at peace when singing, and because of her irrational state, she began to sing louder. Renade wasn't thinking straight, or she would've remembered that during the more noonish hours of the day, the room advisor came back to eat lunch.
He's waiting to die as he sits all alone
He's a man in a cell who regrets what he's done
He utters a cry from the depths of his soul
"Oh Lord, forgive me, I want to go home"
Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside
And it said,
"I know you've murdered and I know you've lied
And I have watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you'll listen I'll, I'll tell you that I..."
I will love you for you
Not for what you have done
Or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never... what the hell?
In the next moments The RA came in, busted her for skipping school and carted her off to administration. She didn't fight back because of exhaustion, though she did utter a few expletives. Administration threatened to expel, her, but in the end she got off by promising campus clean-up and homework delivery. Grumbling, she trotted off to detention to do work her teachers assigned to her for being late.
After detention, she went by classrooms to gather work for a student in men's dorm 07. It seemed that the student was in the same grade, since she had to face many of her teachers to get his lame homework. After collecting the stack, she left the school building and went to go change clothes. There was no reason to stay in the uniform longer than necessary. Trotting to her dorm, she quickly changed into a black shirt advertising freedom of expression and a pair of khaki cargo shorts. She planned on going to the park, which accounted for her quite casual wear. Grabbing her guitar on the way out, Renade left her 'comfort zone'
Renade didn't waste time going to the men's dorm and entering to drop off the work. Maybe, if she was lucky, the kid would be gone and she could just slide it all underneath the door before going to find a tree to climb. After locating the door, she quickly knocked on it about three times. She was taken aback by the familiarity of the voice coming from the door. Except, it was different.
"You can just drop the homework off at the entrance, don't want to get you sick there Jin." Jin? Jin? I'm sure as hell not Jin.... Still, that isn't Yuki right? He's sick?! Well, he was sneezing at my dorm... but still! Renade was definitely not just going to leave the homework at the entrance! He was sick and just being lazy. What a loser! She wanted to know if he had any troubles getting back last night! Well then, miss questioneer! Why don't you just go in and ask him. The damn park can wait! Renade grasped the door, took a breath and pushed the door open.
"Well, someone sounds like hell today. Oh, and in case you haven't realized it in your compromised state, I'm definitely not Jin. " Though, that's probably who he would rather see at this point. Renade calmly walked into the dorm and looked around. It did look like where Yuki would live. Well, part of him anyway. "I brought your homework, just in case you thought I was here to rob you or pester a sick student. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have to." That's a lie though. If he asked you, you'd probably show up within two minutes. Renade moved towards the table where she assumed his tea was, because it was still sloshing around in the cup.
Renade yawned and looked at Yuki. He looked pretty under the weather, sniffling and coughing like an old man contracting typhus. Part of her felt the need to place a hand on his head to check for a fever. Of course, she wasn't going to do that because then he'd notice and probably kick her out. She didn't want to have to leave, just when she was getting to see his dorm for the first time too. Plus, she just wasn't going to leave him sick there. Setting his homework down on the table, Renade flopped herself down on the edge of his bed and rested her guitar to the side.
"Why did you go and get yourself sick? You can't suffer through classes now!" Renade looked around before speaking again. "You realize I didn't even go to sleep until this morning? I overslept and then tried to skip. Now I'm delivering work. but it's your fault I'm so tired." Renade refused to think about her confession. She didn't want to think about how she was falling in love with him or the fact that she was genuinely worried for his health. Yawning she scooted back until her head hit the wall. "Idiot."
Renade didn't know who she was referring to at that moment.
